Tabitha is spending her last summer before college writing a book and friends and family feel she might be getting too obsessed over it. Why? Well, for one her subject matter is about a serial killer and now she seems to suspect the neighbor of being just that. But while her friend Jordan tries to reason with her, the man does seem to exhibit peculiar behavior. For he always wears sunglasses, seems to change his clothes constantly, and of course, he is always burying things in his backyard. And when a weird sound is heard emanating from his place, Tabitha vows to enter his house the next time he leaves, and Jordan feels compelled to go along. A story about first impressions actually turning out to be true, “Shades” is a thriller that could happen in any suburban neighborhood. Writer: Eric Nemoto. Pages: 67.
