Heaven In The Hood (D)

Project Description

Santana is not your typical brother in the hood. He quotes the Bible as well as he pulls a switchblade. When a friend dies, he realizes he must rescue himself from his hopeless existence. Turning to the Lord, he becomes a minister in charge of the church in his old neighborhood. Feeling the only way to “shepherd his flock” is to become one of them, he dons gold chains in place of his collar, and starts delivering his sermons in the form of song and rap music. While his means of preaching is unorthodox, he begins to get his message across to his congregation of hookers, junkies and street urchins. Heaven In The Hood is a winning drama complete with music that will have the audiences clapping in rhythm. Writers: Eric Nemoto, Jon Brekke. Pages: 140.
