Introduction
Jackie Claxton is a fictional character created by local (Hawaii based) indie filmmaker, Jeff Katts, who he sought to incorporate into “Good vs Evil” stories that would make an impact in the community. The character is a Hawaii woman who has the power to teleport to different locations and different dimensions. Her life’s mission is to save others who are in need of help. Jackie has to fight evil forces that inhabit this world. Her character has a fanfare impact within a small community on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, and abroad. She is considered to be a superhero, but she is really just an average person trying to lead a normal life. Having had a deep admiration for pop culture, comic books, fantasy/adventure films, science fiction, and religion, Katts has created a character and a universe that embodied all of these elements.

Origin
The original story premise started off like this: Jackie Claxton was a Hawaii girl who was given the power of teleportation by a renegade angel named, Scylencia. Jackie was able to teleport and save people who were either in trouble, or were soon going to be in trouble. She mainly used her teleportation powers on the island of Oahu, but, eventually would be able to teleport to other locations around the world. During her many adventures, she was taught by Scylencia in the martial arts, particularly hand-to-hand combat. Along the way, Jackie also acquired knowledge from other angels and got involved in preserving the sanctity of mankind. She is part of a group called the Inciters, who are people given special powers by angels to save human lives and battle evil forces.
Jackie Is Recruited By Scylencia And Becomes An Inciter
Main Nemesis
Jackie has her enemies. Her main nemesis is Cadence Sorenson. Cadence has the power of mind manipulation and was given this power by her demon guardian, Helyssia, who is the rival of Scylencia. In the JCU Universe, Jackie battles Cadence to save people. Cadence wants nothing more than to please Helyssia and to rule by her side. She does so by destroying people and wrecking havoc and destruction where she goes. Cadence is part of a group called the Inducers, who are people given special powers by demons to carry out evil deeds. These range from assaulting or even killing people, to assisting the demons in their quest for world domination.

Friends & Enemies
Jackie is not alone in her fight against evil and in saving people. She has her Inciter friends to help out from time to time. Melinda Martell has the power of telekinesis and Jalynn Ramos has the power of pyrokinesis. Opposing her, Cadence has her Inducer friends to help her. Rylie Hinsfield has the power of vulnerability, while Darlena Zynner has the power to create blue blasts.

Feature Films
In 2012, Jeff Katts directed Jackie Claxton And The Battles From Beyond, a local independent movie that tells the story of Jackie Claxton trying to save a young girl and the universe. The movie premiered at the Ward Consolidated Theatres in 2013, as well as various other venues in Honolulu. The movie would eventually gain a small fan following due to the main character and the world she inhabited. Jackie Claxton: Teleporter In Hawaii continues the adventures of Jackie Claxton as she races against time to save an unfortunate soul. Or does she? This sequel/reboot included a new cast and crew and was shot in more locations on Oahu, Hawaii. This independent movie also premiered at the Ward Consolidated Theatres in 2018 and became available for streaming on the All Hawaii TV channel on Roku.

Stage Plays
In the fall of 2009, the character of Jackie Claxton was introduced to the public through a stage play called Dancing Between Heaven & Hell, as produced by the community theatre, TAG – The Actors’ Group. This was a musical/dance play that featured Miss Hawaii 2007, Ashley Layfield, as Jackie Claxton. Another stage production revolving around Jackie Claxton was again produced by TAG in the fall of 2013. This was The World Of Jackie Claxton, which told the story of Jackie Claxton searching for her long lost father with the help of her friends while battling evil enemies in the process. Jackie Claxton: The Body Swapper was the third JCU stage play that was produced by TAG. This story had Inciter Jackie Claxton swapping bodies with her nemesis, Inducer Cadence Sorenson, and followed both women discovering what their lives are really like when they are not fighting each other. It’s a classic story of, “Good Girl Goes Bad,” and “Bad Girl Goes Good,” and was produced by TAG in the fall of 2019.

Television Show

Short Films
As the JCU started to have an influence on the teen generation on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, Jeff Katts decided to create an origin story involving a young Jackie Claxton in high school. Jackie uses her power of teleportation to help other teenagers with their problems. Mahealani Sims-Tulba, daughter of local comedian, Augie T., portrayed young Jackie. Two film shorts were completed in 2015 with one focusing on the topic of bullying.

Web Videos
Jackie Claxton web videos have also been uploaded to YouTube. Each video represented a different type of story and genre while focusing on the Jackie Claxton character. Each video also has a different actress portraying Jackie.

Spin-Offs
The character of Scylencia, Jackie’s angel mentor, is the lead in a couple of web videos that tell the story of a group of outcast angels who live by their own rules, are shunned by their angel peers, and are taunted by demons who want them to fall. The character of Helyssia, Jackie’s nemesis, is the lead in other web videos that has her, and her group of lady demons, trying to obtain more human souls. Helyssia was first portrayed by Miss Hawaii 2005 (and former Hawaii television newscaster), Olena Heu. Other web videos which focus on Jackie’s cousin, Mika, and her ability to “banish” hidden monsters on earth, also appear on YouTube and other platforms. Lastly, there are web videos that showcase stories of other Inciters and Inducers. Most of these focus on the battles between Inciters, Melinda and Jalynn, and Inducers, Rylie and Darlena.

Fans
The JCU has a small fan base that is growing each and every year. The fan base started in Hawaii and reached out to Japan, the mainland U.S., and to Brazil. One special fan, which is one of the main reasons that Jeff Katts has kept the JCU going, was Diana Garigin. Diana took part in the JCU on stage and in web videos. She died in 2011 from cancer. She was 20-years-old. In excerpts from her diary during her final days, she mentioned about how the character of Jackie Claxton kept her smiling and alive.

Conventions
From 2014 to 2015, the JCU was exhibited at different Hawaii comic conventions, at the Japanese Cultural Center, Blaisdell Exhibition Hall, and the Hawaii Convention Center. Being showcased at comic conventions brought on a new awareness for the JCU and also brought in new fans.

Cosplay, a portmanteau of “costume play,” is an activity and performance art in which participants called cosplayers wear costumes and fashion accessories to represent a specific character. Accordingly, there have been many Hawaii and mainland U.S. cosplayers who have dressed up as characters in the JCU, which have been showcased in photo shoots and web video clips.
